Mortgage loan is a term used in the world of finance to indicate a particular type of loan secured by mortgage of a real estate. Although the term mortgage is a legal term and refers to a legal security, mortgage and mortgage loans are used interchangeably to describe mortgage loan. To be more specific, mortgage loan generally refers to a loan secured by mortgage on a residential property. It is the preferred way in most of the countries to raise finance to acquire a residential property.
